The mission of the staff at John Adams Middle School is to facilitate the educational, Physical, social, and emotional growth of our culturally diverse population, and to prepare students for life in the twenty-first century.

Our comprehensive program, delivered through the middle school team model, provides students with opportunities to excel in all academic areas, as well as in the related arts. Our students continue to maintain or exceed the district mean on standardized tests, and continue to receive recognition in science as well as through participation at the Middle School of the Arts, and the Johns Hopkins Talent Search Program.

John Adams students also excel in music, foreign language, Model United Nations and Odyssey of the Mind competitions. These accomplishments are a tribute not only to the individual talents of our students, but also to our active, involved, concerned parents, and to the dedication and commitment of an outstanding faculty. Our teachers work individually and collectively to facilitate the learning process, to help students grow academically and socially, and to foster appreciation for the richness of our diverse community.

The social and emotional needs of our students are met through strong intervention programs such as The Pupil Assistance Committee, crisis counseling and peer mediation. We also have active involvement of parents through the PTA and the building Multi-Cultural Council.
